How money reaches you, what the service fee covers, when you can withdraw, and what the optional Plus subscription adds.
Money from an ad is collected when the advertiser pays, held as a balance against your account, and withdrawn to your own Stripe account once it clears the threshold. You do not need Stripe connected to create a space, run ads or earn — only to take the money out.
Every figure is shown before you agree to anything: when you review an ad you see the amount the advertiser pays and the amount you will receive, not a rate explained afterwards.
Your ad spaces sell and earn whether or not Stripe is connected. Advertisers pay Perch directly, and your share of every payment is added to your Perch balance straight away. Connecting Stripe is what gives that balance somewhere to land: it's needed to withdraw, not to sell.
From your dashboard or your earnings page, Connect Stripe starts a short Stripe-hosted onboarding flow (identity verification, bank details) — Stripe handles all of it, this app only stores your connected account's status. It takes a couple of minutes, and you can do it before your first sale or long after.
You'll need it done before you request a withdrawal, which unlocks once your balance reaches $65.00. Nothing is lost by waiting — the balance keeps accruing in the meantime.
One Stripe connection covers every ad space you own — you don't reconnect per space.
Most online advertising platforms take their cut somewhere in a chain of intermediaries and report a net figure at the end of the month. Here there is one deduction and you can see it before you agree to anything. Every ad payment includes a flat service fee, shown wherever a payout is displayed — on the review page before you accept an ad, on the pay page an advertiser sees, and in your notification emails. It's not a fee on top of what the advertiser pays; it's taken from the payment itself, and the rest is added to your balance for you to withdraw.
There's no fee for creating a space, no monthly charge, and nothing owed if an ad never sells. It costs nothing to monetise your website here until the moment money actually arrives, because the fee only exists to cover what handling that money costs: card processing, payouts, hosting and support.
Every ad space shows a small default banner when no paid ad is running, inviting visitors to advertise there. Plus lets you replace that with your own promo instead — your newsletter, a sale, another page on your site — on any space you own.

Once Plus is active, every space's manage page gets a Fallback promo panel — set a text or image promo and an optional link, same as submitting a regular ad. It only ever shows when no paid ad is currently live on that space; a paid ad always takes priority over it.
Refunds and chargebacks. If a charge is refunded or disputed, the corresponding amount comes back out of your balance. If you have already withdrawn it, the balance can go negative — it is not a debt we will chase automatically, but it must clear before a further withdrawal.
Failed renewals. Ads are billed in advance on a recurring basis. If an advertiser's card is declined, the ad stops and the slot frees up, and the queue is offered the space immediately.
Tax. What you earn here is your income and your responsibility to declare. We do not withhold tax, and we are not able to give tax advice.
